Sonora Bank Appoints Edward Earwood to Board of Directors
Sonora, TX (Feb. 23, 2022) – Sonora Bank announced today the appointment of Edward Earwood of Sonora, Texas to its board of directors for Sonora Bank and First Sonora Bancshares.
“We are pleased to welcome Edward as our newest member of the Sonora Bank and First Sonora Bancshares Board of Directors,” said Bob Malone, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Edward is well-known and respected throughout Sonora, Edwards County and West Texas. His breadth of experience with ranching and agribusiness, combined with his stewardship of land and water resources will be an asset as we round out our nine-member board of directors.
Edward Earwood was born and raised in Sonora, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University. Being born into a ranching family with deep roots in local history and tradition, Edward chose to follow his family history and continue ranching after completing his degree. He is a 5th generation steward of his family’s ranch in Edwards County. The ranch was homesteaded in 1901 by his great-grandfather, John Washington Putman, and Edward continues his family’s legacy of raising Rambouillet sheep and Registered Angora goats today.
Edward is an active member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church of Sonora and is currently the Senior Warden of the Vestry. He is a board member of the Edwards Plateau Soil and Water Conservation District and an elected member of the Sutton County Hospital District board of trustees.
